
The International Center for Spinal Cord Injury at Kennedy Krieger Institute, is the world’s first program focused on spinal cord injuries in children. The Centers offers hope to any child or adult experiencing a disorder of paralysis, no matter how long ago they experienced their injury. The goals of the Center are to improve health and optimize recovery of function.


In 2004 Pat transitioned from Performance Assessment Coordinator at Washington University School of Medicine Spinal Cord Injury program to the International Center for Spinal Cord Injury at Kennedy Krieger Institute, an affiliate of John’s Hopkins.
Renowned neurologist Dr. John W. McDonald directs the International Center for Spinal Cord Injury. Dr. McDonald is one of the world’s foremost experts on the treatment and research of paralysis. Dr. McDonald’s ABR therapy approach was publicly acknowledged as producing the substantial and delayed recovery of actor/activist Christopher Reeve.
